Confirmation preparation begins in 9th grade. A program of study, prayer, liturgy, and community service over a period of two years culminates in the celebration of Confirmation in the Spring of 10th grade. At least one year of prior religious instruction (immediately preceding Confirmation preparation) is a prerequisite for entrance into the Confirmation program.
First Year Confirmation students (grade 9 and above) meet on Monday evenings from 6:30PM - 7:30PM at the Catholic Parish Center (400 Floyd Ave). Participation in an Evening of Reflection is also required of all 1st Year Confirmation Candidates (date TBD).
Second Year Confirmation students (grade 10 and above) meet as a large group one Sunday per month during the school year. Large group meetings begin with attendance at 10:00AM Mass, followed by class until 12:30PM. Students also meet in small groups once per month from October through April. Small group meetings are planned by each class individually. Participation in a day-long retreat experience is also required of all 2nd Year Confirmation Candidates (date TBD).
